Sport and Physical Education
PE at Little Leigh Primary School:
At Little Leigh Primary School, we believe PE is vital in helping children stay healthy, confident, and active. Our curriculum follows the PE Hub scheme, ensuring high-quality, engaging lessons that meet National Curriculum expectations. Each class enjoys two hours of PE weekly, taught by their class teacher, HLTA, or our specialist PE coach. We are also fortunate to work alongside Mr Finney from Weaverham High School and Mr Coleclough, who supports PE across our trust.
In Year 4, children take part in swimming lessons to develop essential water safety and swimming skills, with catch-up sessions offered where needed.
We provide a range of after-school sports clubs and participate in numerous competitions and festivals through the Vale Royal School Sports Partnership and events organised by Joshua Coleclough, competing against other schools within the Create Learning Trust.
We are proud to have maintained our Platinum School Sports Award, recognising our commitment to high-quality PE and sporting opportunities for all pupils. Through expert support and strong partnerships, we continue to inspire every child to enjoy an active and healthy lifestyle.
