Reporting Absence
Parents are asked to notify the school of the reason for absence. A telephone call should be made to school on the first morning of absence and a message left on the answer phone if the call is not answered. An alternative option is to complete the reporting absence form, this will send an email to the admin staff so that they are able to record your child's absence.
This is important so that we know there is no cause for concern because the child has not arrived in school. When a child returns after an illness, we require a note to be sent into school to explain the absence in line with LA guidance. If a child is expected to be absent for some other reason other than illness, a note should be sent, in advance, for permission to be granted. All authorised and unauthorised absences and lateness are recorded on the school registration system.
